Alfred M. Rimes, 82, a resident of Summit, MS, passed away on February 5, 2022, at SMRMC in McComb, MS.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM at Tangipahoa Baptist Church in Summit with visitation again on Wednesday from 10 AM until services at 11 AM at the church. Rev. Mike Morris and Dr. Woody Rimes will officiate and burial will follow the service at Tangipahoa Cemetery. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb will be in charge of arrangements.
Alfred was born on June 19, 1939 in Pike County, MS, to the late John R. Rimes Sr., and Annie Strickland Rimes.
Alfred was a Dairy farmer a member of Tangipahoa Baptist Church and a Mason with Serenity Lodge #214. He was the best husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather you could ask for. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He will be sadly missed by those who loved him.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, a son Malcolm Rimes, six brothers Ricky Rimes, Bobby Rimes, Dwight Rimes, James Rimes, C.L. Rimes and Davis Rimes; nine sisters Louisa Cooper, Clara Mae Hughes, Dulcie Hughes, Muriel Grice, Loyette Rimes, Virginia Wilson, Charlene Bond, Willie Dean McDonald and Marie Edmonson.
He is survived by his wife of forty six happy years Joe Ann Rimes, his children Bruce Rimes (Cindy), Dot Taylor (Travis), Alan Rimes (Glenda) and Mae Tadlock (Doug), one sister Elmer Simmons; eleven grandchildren Missy Postman (Brad), April Broussard (John), Valerie Lofton (Chris), Rachel Vanslooten (Dannial), Glen Rimes, Dakota Rimes (Valerie), Donavan Tadlock, Danielle Rimes, Stephanie Rimes, Wyatt Tadlock (Amy) and Ann Marie Tadlock; ten great-grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dakota Rimes, Glen Rimes, Josh Rimes, Wyatt Tadlock, Chris Lofton and Mark Bond.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of his grand and great-grandchildren along with the men of Tangipahhoa Baptist church.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to (Fed By His Hands) in care of Tangipahoa Baptist Church.
