Alton Fleming, 89, passed away at McComb Nursing and Rehab on December 16, 2024.
A visitation will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 12 PM until services at 2 PM. Burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born in Pike Co., MS on October 13, 1935. He was in the Navy during the Korean War. Alton owned Alton's Auto Parts for many years. He was also a constable in Pike County and worked for Guy's Pharmacy. He later on in life became manager over McComb Bowl. He was an avid bowler, won many awards, and was inducted into the McComb Hall of Fame.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Gladys Irene Fleming; one brother, Ted Fleming (Agnes); his son Ernie Case; and one great-grandson Drake Smith, Jr.
He is survived by his five children Sally Strohman (Dan), Wanda Hodges (Randall), Carol Fleming, William Fleming (T.L.), and Tracy Roberts; four grandchildren Randy Hodges (Stacy), April Smith (Drake), Amberly Grounds (Jonathan), and William Roberts; Eight great-grandchildren Scott, Hughston, and Gracelyn Hodges, James and Athena Grounds Axel and Delilah Smith, and one on the way, Wallace Smith; a special friend, Stuart Guy; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Randy Hodges, Scott Hodges, Randall Hodges, Drake Smith, Stuart Guy, and James Scott.
