Barbara Ellen Dunaway, 76, of McComb, MS passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at SWRMC in McComb, MS. 

A visitation will be held Monday, October 12, 2026 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 12 Noon until 1:30 PM, with graveside services to follow at 2 PM at Pike Memorial Gardens in McComb. Rev. Trent Bilbo will officate and Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on February 28, 1950 in Florida. She is the daughter of the late Arthur Trayal and Nita Wharton Trayal. 

She worked as a waitress for some time and stayed strong in her Pentecostal faith throughout her life. Barbara was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Barbara enjoyed reading in her free time, and playing games on the computer.

Barbara is preceded in death by parents; three brothers, Richard, Danny, and Benny, as well as her sister.

She is survived by her two sons; Chad Dunaway (Ashley) and Richard Stephens. She also left behind one sister, Jackie Johnson and her beloved granddaughters; Lexie Hoggatt (Andrew) and Dallas Stephens, who gave her four great grandchildren, as well as a special niece Rebecca J. Stevens and a special nephew Jody Johnson.

Barbara will be deeply missed by all those who love her.

Pallbearers will be Jody Johnson, Frank Coleman, Dustin Bowman, Kayden Ritchey, Robert Wilkinson and Skip Stevens.
