Bobby Ray Phelps, 56, of Hattiesburg, MS passed away on February 12, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital.

Mr. Phelps was born on March 22, 1965 in Magnolia, MS to Buck H. Phelps Jr. and Bessie Diane Lewis.

Visitation will be at Miracle Lighthouse Church 2027 Guiding Light Rd. Magnolia, MS Thursday February 24, 2022 from 11:00 Am until services there at 2:00 PM under the direction of Hartman Jones Funeral Home.   Rev. Jeff Phelps will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Simmons, Bobby Lewis, Ethan Phelps, Nicholas Phelps, Charles Lewis and Wendell Thornton.

Honorary pallbearers are Annaha Lewis, John Michael Brown and Brandon Simmons.

He worked for Jones Companies in Hattiesburg installing solar panels and operating equipment.  He likes working on cars and fishing.  He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He was the life of the family and lived his life to the fullest, always laughing and having a good time.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ann Lewis; step father Eugene Lewis; step mother Betty Phelps; Brother Marshall Phelps; and sister Diane Shoffner.

Survivors include his wife Paula Phelps of Hattiesburg, MS; his father Buck Phelps Jr.; his children Bobby Lewis of Newport, TN; Rachel Simmons (Stephen) of Brookhaven, MS; Ariel Hamilton (Buddy) of Brookhaven, MS; Chris Beeman (Morgan) of Depue, IN; Katie Fisk (Benjamin) of Hattiesburg, MS; Emily Lux (Diego) of Laurel, MS; brothers Jeffery Phelps (Melissa) of Osyka, MS; William Avery (Selena) of Leesville, LA; Buck Phelps of McComb, MS; Jimmy Phelps (Shannon) of Ocean Springs, MS; sisters Francies Turnage (Kenny) of Tazewell, TN; Nancy McKenzie (Kyle) of Tylertown, MS; Tina Lewis of LaRose, LA; 24 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
