Bonnie Jean Caston Cooksey, 74, passed away on November 10, 2024 at North Oaks Regional Medical Center in Hammond, LA.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Fernwood Baptist Church from 5 PM until 8 PM, continuing Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 10 AM until services at 11 AM. Bro. Trent Moak will officiate and burial will be at Pike Memorial Gardens. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie was born on November 4, 1950 to Samuel Caston and Thelma Jones Collier. She was married for 54 years to Johnnie G. Cooksey. She was a beloved member of Fernwood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws John and Louise Cooksey; her siblings W.A. Cummins, Jr., Dorothy McElveen, and Irene Russell; and her brothers-in-law Randy Cooksey, Wayne Cooksey, and Billy Webb.

She is survived by her husband; her sons Stephen (Menessa) Cooksey and Jason (Michelle) Cooksey; her grandchildren Kaitlin (Reed) Jones, Braxton Cooksey, Brady Cooksey, and Cole Cooksey; her sisters-in-law Margaret Webb, Deanna Cooksey, and Nancy Cooksey; her best friends Connie Watts and Linda Hale; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers will be James Morgan, Billy Morgan, Greg Ray, Randy Smith, Anson Morris and Josh Reagan.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons Braxton, Brady, Cole and Reed.

Special thanks from the family to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Cancer Institute of Southwest Mississippi and the Surgical ICU at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond, LA for the exceptional care to both Nanny and her family.
