Brent Alice Moak, 90, a resident of Byram, Mississippi, and formerly of McComb, Mississippi, passed away on July 14, 2026, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family.

Brent dedicated her life to hard work and family. She worked for many years at Trustmark Bank before transferring to Plano, Texas, to work for Electronic Data Systems (EDS), where she retired. After retirement, she returned to Byram, Mississippi. Never one to slow down, she later worked part-time in the print shop at the Mississippi State Legislature well into her 80s.

Brent enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, and making crafts. She lovingly created handmade quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. She especially looked forward to fig season so she could make her famous fig preserves to share with family, friends, and coworkers. Even in her golden years, Brent never slowed down. She remained active with home improvement projects and home maintenance. Her daughters often received calls from neighbors letting them know that Mrs. Moak was on the roof working, mowing the yard in the heat of the day, or tackling projects that many people her age would not have attempted. She truly enjoyed staying busy until her final days.

Her family and friends will forever cherish her legacy of hard work, her deep love for her family, and her caring heart for those in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Ollie Lindsey of Sidon, Mississippi; her loving husband, Jerry B. Moak of Byram, Mississippi; her son, Bobby Joe Moak of McComb, Mississippi; her brother, Franz "Buddy" Lindsey of Sidon, Mississippi; her sister, Hazel Logan of Stewart, Mississippi; and her sister, Shirley Jean Wiggins of Sidon, Mississippi.

She is survived by her two daughters, Geraldine McCullough (Buddy) of Byram, Mississippi, and Patricia Franciskato of Byram, Mississippi; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Pike Memorial Gardens. Rev. Eric Moak will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
