Obituary

Catherine "Cathy" Wilkinson Giacone, 75, a resident of McComb, MS; passed away December 06, 2025, at Camellia Estates in McComb.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Tangipahoa Baptist Church from 11:00 AM until services at 1:00 PM.  Rev. Mike Morris and Dr. Victor Walsh will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Tangipahoa Baptist Church cemetery.  Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Cathy was born on August 28, 1950, in Baton Rouge, LA to Thomas Wilkinson and Rita Wells Wilkinson. She was a member of Tangipahoa Baptist Church, where she was a sang in the choir, her love of music carried through to her daughter.  Cathy volunteered and contributed many devoted hours to the Fed by His Hands Ministry at Tangipahoa Baptist Church. She worked for many years with the Mississippi State Department of Health and at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in labor and delivery, which was her passion, along with many other hospitals, home health establishments.  Cathy loved animals and frequently volunteered at the McComb Animal Shelter. A diehard LSU football fan and had no choice to be with her husband and her father-in-law who both played football at LSU.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Jeffery L. Giacone.

She is survived by her daughter Amy Giacone of McComb, her sons Andy Giacone (Dana) of Atlanta, GA, Marty Giacone (Tia) of Orlando, FL and Brad Giacone (Tracy) of New Orleans, LA, a sister Cindy Poche (Bobby) of Mandeville, LA, a brother Tommy Wilkinson of Baton Rouge, LA, grandchildren Peyton Giacone (Sofia), Megan Giacone, Blake Giacone, Kinley Giacone, Presley Giacone, great grandchildren Lucas Giacone and Gianna Giacone, along with numerous friends and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Andy Giacone, Brad Giacone, Peyton Giacone, Blake Giacone, Marty Giacone and Bobby Poche.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fed by His Hands Ministries of Tangipahoa Baptist Church.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the entire staff of Camellia Estates and Hospice Compassus for the loving care they provided to Cathy during her time with them.
