Cecil W. Bailey, Sr., 82, passed away peacefully at home in Ruth, MS on April 29, 2026, with his family by his side.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 at Fellowship Baptist Church from 5 PM until 8 PM continuing Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 11 AM until services at 1 PM. Burial will be at the church cemetery and Rev. Glenn Crane will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born on January 1, 1944, in Ruth, MS to his parents, the late T.J. Bailey and Marie Bailey, he attended Summit School. Cecil worked in the oilfield, then as a logger, cattleman, welder, and jack of all trades. He loved people, helped everyone, and enjoyed singing specials at church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers Willis Bailey, Ted Bailey, and Bobby Bailey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Martha Jackson Bailey; his son Cecil Bailey, Jr. (Karen) and Kenneth Bailey. He had three beautiful grandchildren Kendrick D. Bailey, Laura B. Bond (Ty), and Daniel Bailey (Sabrina). He is also blessed with three great-grandchildren Aaliyah F. Bailey, Emory Bailey, and Charles Bailey. He is also survived by his sisters Minnie Smith, Anita Westbrook, and Barbara Butler (Joe) and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are all his friends. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Bailey, Kendrick Bailey, Daniel Bailey, Anissa Butler, Richard Thaxton, and Cecil Bailey, Jr.
