Obituary

Charles T. Dixon, 93, of Liberty, MS passed away peacefully at his home on April 2, 2024.

Visitation will be at Liberty Baptist Church Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 5 PM until 8 PM and will resume Monday, April 8, 2024 from 10 AM until services at 11 AM. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery. Rev. Woody Rimes and Rev. Kevin Dixon will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Don Deville, Rickey Cummings, Roger "Opey" Shaffer, Kyle Dixon, David Bradley, David Cody, Mondo Barragan and Billy Ray Warner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rusty Vine, Brady Warner, Todd Partridge, Jyles Fleming, Cole Partridge, Dixon Clark, and Kristian Clark.

Charles was born in Amite County, MS on January 27, 1931 to the late Howard and Ada Durham Dixon.

Charles loved the Lord. He has served as a Deacon. Charles was one of the original founding members of Central Private School in Baker, LA. He had a host of students whom he had cared for and mentored to over the years. He was very athletic in his younger years, especially enjoying football. Charles's whole life centered around sports and children. He had a deep love for horses and cattle. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Pamela Ortlieb and Keith "Kebo" Dixon; and one brother, Russell Dixon.

He is survived by his wife almost 35 years, Susan Cummings Dixon; two sons, Kevin (Donna) Dixon and Kyle (Jerry) Dixon; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special mentions to his girls, Katie Lynn Fleming, Aubrey Armand, Brandi Armand and Charleigh Kate Fleming; his special friend and caregiver, Robert Ritchey; along with a host of numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family wants to give a special thanks Dr. Daniel Fontenot, Dr. Joseph Acosta, and St. Luke Hospice for their care and dedication to Charles.

In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
