Obituary

On Saturday, August 3, 2024, Chuck Magee, 58, passed away at his home in Summit, MS,  surrounded by his wife and children.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb from 5-8 pm and will continue at Tangipahoa Baptist Church in Summit on Wednesday morning from 9 am until the service there at 11 am. Bro. Mike Morris will officiate. Burial will be at the cemetery on site.

Chuck was fiercely dedicated to caring for his family. His involvement and presence in their lives were constant. He was the dad who attended Heather's dress rehearsals and dance recitals and never missed a softball game. Chuck encouraged and supported Bennett in his love for
technology, film, and flying. He enjoyed mentoring and working closely with his son. Pailyn had her daddy wrapped around her finger, and he parented her with loving indulgence, always an available Lyft for her and her friends.

Chuck was hard-working and an excellent provider, allowing his wife, Lindey, to be home with their children and dedicate her time to championing medical freedom for the state of Mississippi — a cause he was immensely proud of.  An entrepreneur of remarkable integrity, Chuck loved business and built and managed many over the years. Chuck would never pursue a business deal unless both parties would benefit, this was a
true reflection of his character. In recent years, Chuck worked from home, often talking loudly on the phone, a familiar and now cherished sound that will be missed.

Chuck was a disciplined and dedicated weightlifting enthusiast. Going to the gym was a non negotiable for him for decades. He earned first place in the Junior Heavy Weight Tri-State Classic and was a mentor in the gym to many, including his own children, over the years.

Chuck was born in Tylertown, MS, on February 10, 1966, to Charles Magee, Sr. and Cora Ann Terrell Magee.

He is survived by his family: his wife of 25 years, Lindey Hughes Magee; their children, Heather Coker (Tyler), Bennett Magee (Lysandra Fegan), and Pailyn Magee; his father, Charles Magee, Sr.; a sister, Carla Bracey (Derek); brothers, Mark Magee, Cliff Magee (Amber), and Clay Magee (Mandy); and his two cherished grandchildren, Elsie and Easton Coker. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews in addition to other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Ann Terrell Magee, and his brother-in-law, Matthew Hughes.

Pallbearers will be Alan Bridevaux, Michael Dier, Dale Hughes, Will Lampton, Clay Magee, and Cliff Magee.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to TheHighWire.com or GarySiniseFoundation.org, organizations Chuck generously supported.

Chuck will be deeply missed, but we are grateful for God's mercy. "The afflictions of the righteous are many, But the Lord rescues him from them all." Psalm 34:19.
