Obituary

Clemie Hewitt, 86, a resident of Summit, MS; passed away November 25, 2025, at McComb Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Mars Hill Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM.  Dr. David Millican will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Clemie was born on August 28, 1939 in Louisiana to the late, Richard Rex Strickland and Ophelia May Strickland.

She enjoyed puzzles, sewing, and reading. She was also a fan of gospel music and old country music. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, and very much loved her church and the Lord. Clemie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Howard Hewitt, Jr.; her son Mickey Hewitt; her daughter Donna Smith and two grandchildren, Christina Smith and Bailey Durham.

She is survived by her daughter Gwen H. Durham; two grandchildren Kinnedy F. Mahan (Jeffery) and Hylan C. Durham; two great-grandchildren, Dakota Smith and Jillian Smith; one sister JoAnn Lott (Wayne); along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
