Obituary

Clinton Franklin "Frank" Boyd, 80, of Liberty, MS passed away on January 14, 2024.  Frank was born to Mary Frances Perkins Boyd and Clinton Clifton Boyd on July 10, 1943 in Huntsville, AL.

Frank graduated Neville High School in Monroe LA in.  He went on to further his education and enjoy LSU, then Northeastern Louisiana University.  He remained a true and loyal LSU fan and could often be found wearing purple and gold, always ready with a "Geaux Tigers" and a smile.

Frank worked as a piping draftsman in the Petrochemical Industry.  He enjoyed the fun and camaraderie at several companies in the industry and formed lifelong friends through the years.  He was always up for a good joke and funny prank, often the instigator.  Through work, Frank traveled across the US and into several foreign countries and enjoyed telling tales of those experiences.  Being the ultimate foodie, many of his stories centered around cultural differences he encountered when he left Louisiana.

Frank was a very talented artist.  He enjoyed art in many forms, his expertise being in calligraphy and lettering.  He found the opportunity to in person learn from many of the greats including Timothy Botts.

Frank met Carolyn Hutchinson at Broadmoor Methodist Church Singles Sunday School class in Baton Rouge, which he was honored to have been instrumental in developing.  His memories of times spent with his Sunday School class friends were some of his best.  Carolyn and Frank were married 1989 in Baton Rouge and have shared life and made memories walking beaches, enjoying art galleries, and museums, attending family functions, and attending church together.

Frank is predeceased by his parents and two brothers in law, Ronnie Dana and Mark Brokaw.

His mischief, his humor, and his presence will be missed by all who met him, but especially by his wife Carolyn Hutchinson Boyd, his daughter Wendy McLean (Stuart), two sons Bill Boyd and Michael Boyd, his sisters Diane Dana, Karen Boyd, Sherry Brokaw along with his brother Bob Boyd.  He is also survived by grandchildren,  Robert Aucoin, Joseph McLean, Charlotte McLean, and WIlliam McLean.  Remembering Frank also are his nieces and nephews along with his cousin Jimmy Perkins with whom Frank enjoyed a special friendship. Sister in law, Debbie Kelly and brother in law, Hugh Kelly will miss him greatly.   Left to carry on Frank's legacy is his "only" friend, Fred Kimball (Pat) and his other "only" friend, Poochie Kennedy (Carolyn)
