Clyde Goudeau, 89, a resident of Gonzales, LA, formerly of Osyka, MS where he lived for 52 years; passed away March 29, 2025 at The PARC Senior Living in Gonzales, LA.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at Hartman Jones Funeral Home. Due to inclement weather moving in the region, graveside services have been moved to the Hartman Jones Funeral Home chapel at 12:30 PM.
Clyde was born on November 17, 1935 in Goudeau, LA to Alfred Julian Goudeau and Bessie Lou Willis Goudeau. He was a member of First Baptist Church McComb and later attended Terry's Creek Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of the CCS Ranch in Osyka. He was inducted in 2015 to the Brahmans Hall of Fame. He has been a herdsman for more than 70 years, an advocate for the Brahman breed, serving as a judge worldwide, a consultant, a mentor and a role model; along with also being a friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the ABBA for many years. He helped establish many school programs locally and at the college level. A Founding member of the Mississippi Brahman Breeders Association. He will be missed in his field of expertise and by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Betty, his second wife Virginia, a daughter JoLynn Goudeau Stephens, five brothers Alfred Julian Goudeau, Jr., Wilson Coolidge Goudeau, Otis Marcelia Goudeau, Emile Goudeau, and Pierre Goudeau, four sisters Gladys Prejean, Edna McDonald, Marceline Jackson and Jacqueline Saucier.
He is survived by his wife Gloria McBride Goudeau of Gonzales, LA, a daughter Elizabeth Goudeau Spencer (Bud) of Osyka, MS, grandchildren Clayton Stephens (Regina), Erica Myers (Christopher) and Becky McGraw (Landon) great grandchildren Cal Stephens, Leo Stephens, Isaac Myers, Silas Myers, Adelyn McGraw, Marcy McGraw, a son-in-law Mark Stephens, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Isaac Myers, Clayton Stephens, Dane Graves, Russell Byrd, Caleb Byrd and Carson Byrd.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Rimes, Mike Bridwell, Clint Galiano, Charlie Hurston and Dennis Wilson.
The family would like to give special thanks to The PARC Senior Living Community and especially Baton Rouge Hospice.
