Curtis Allen Carey, 80, a resident of Summit, MS passed away on February 8, 2026 at his son's residence surrounded by his loving family. .

A visitation will be held Friday, February 13, 2026 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 10 AM until memorial services at 12 PM. His final burial will be in Indianapolis, IN. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Curt was born on July 14, 1945 in Lebanon, IN to the late Allen and Virginia Brooks Carey. He was an avid gun and knife collector. He enjoyed shooting for sport and won many competitions. Curt served in the United States Navy and served on the USS Vesuvius during the Vietnam War. He was an avid animal lover, both dogs and cats. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 40 loving years Patricia Carey; and his sister Lottie Bender.

He is survived by his son, Brandon Carey (Cherisse); four grandchildren Curtis, Devon, Jonathan, and Breanna; five great-grandchildren; three nieces Cherylin, Andrea, and Jacque; and two nephews Greg and Mike.
