Obituary

Daniel James Hering, 74, of Summit, MS passed away on October 7, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 10 AM until services at 12 PM. Bro. Rick Kennedy will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Daniel was born on March 5, 1950 in Peoria, IL to the late Charles Hering and Billie Johnson Hering. He went into the Air Force in 1969 and was stationed in Florida. He was discharged in 1973 and entered the Navy in 1976, serving as a pharmacy tech. He married the love of his life, Debra "Mouse" in 1975. They raised their children in Memphis, TN, where he earned his nursing degree. Later on, he got a Master's Degree and became a physician's assistant. In 2005, they moved to Summit, MS where he used his degree to care for nursing home residents. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters Candace Randolph and Kathleen DoBrava.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Debra Baguss Hering; three children Adam (Heather) Hering, Genna Hering, and Matthew Hering; five grandchildren Kyndal, AJ, Emilynn, Emersyn, and Luke; two brothers Chuck Hering and Andy Hering; four sisters Diana Shefts, Deborah Sollberger, Roxanne Hull, and Mandy Hering; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
