Daniel James "Danny" Erwin, 69, of Summit, MS passed away October 5, 2024 at Camellia Estates in McComb.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Osyka Cemetery. Bro. Jacob Williams will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Danny was born in McComb, MS on January 9, 1955 to Benjamin Franklin Erwin and Jean Raborn Erwin. He was a member of Osyka Baptist Church, where he met his wife. He was taught to work as a young man, working alongside his father. He drove for many companies delivering lumber, and milk picked up from Tangipahoa processing. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching westerns. His time spent with family, especially his grandchildren was the highlight of his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers John Wayne Erwin and Benjamin Franklin Erwin, Jr., two sisters Bennie Jan Phelps and Susan Diane Strickland.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Tracy Booty Erwin of Summit, two daughters Amy Weber (William) of Summit and Dana Duncan (Brock) of Summit, grandchildren Braydon Weber, Wade Weber, Bryder Weber, Lillie Duncan and James Duncan, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital at 2500 N State St, Jackson, MS 39216.
Pallbearers will be William Weber, Brock Duncan, Braydon Weber, Wade Weber, Bryder Weber and Steve Weber.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Booty and James Duncan.
