Danny Carrol Whittington, 75, a resident of Summit, MS., passed away on August 2, 2025 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held Saturday Aug 23, 2025 10 AM at Whittington Cemetery with Rev. Anthony Yarborough officiating. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Danny was born on May 30, 1950 to the late Alvie Rushea and Rosa Dickerson Whittington.

Danny was a retired Merchant Marine and a member of Istrouma Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA. He was a true patriot, a man of great faith and a prayer warrior. He was a giver of himself and a great care-taker to his mother and father. He was a member of the NRA and active as a civic advocate. He enjoyed Classical and Jazz music and he was a licensed HAM operator. He loved his dog "Penny" and "Kitty" the cat. He truly will be missed by those who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Alvie Benton and Velma Elizabeth Wilkinson Whittington and also his maternal grandparents, Thomas Martin and Mary Beavers Dickerson.

He is survived by a host of cousins who loved him like a brother.
