Della Parker
Mccue
January 27, 1940 – September 10, 2022
Mrs. Della Viola Parker McCue, age 82, left this earth and stepped out on the clouds of glory walking for the first time and able to raise both arms and praise her Lord and Savior since she suffered a catastrophic stroke in May 2009, on September 10, 2022, at her residence for 58 years with her family heartbroken at letting her go but glad to see the suffering end after a battle with breast cancer.
Born 01/27/1940, she was the daughter of the late James and Adereen Freeman Parker who proceeded her in death.
She was a faithful member and supporter of First Assembly of God Church of McComb since 1962. She served in the nursery for over forty years where she rocked and tended multi-generations of same families until her health failed her. She was the last surviving charter member of Immanual Baptist Church of Magnolia where she was raised as a child. She faithfully read her Bible daily and prayed over an extensive list of missionaries and their families plus any name(s) that had been sent to her in a prayer request.
She worked at Kellwood until 1976 and then stayed home to raise her youngest child and grandchildren while caring for her elderly mother. Later she returned to work as the bookkeeper for McDonald's where she worked until the stroke. She was ever faithful to her church and always there when the doors opened. Many thanks to her church friends and neighbors who were always willing to give her a ride as she had done for many others over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James. H McCue, Sr. of 65 years. Two brothers, James (Jimmy) Parker and Homer (Sue) Parker and a grandson, Michael Brett Riley.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Mike) Riley of Summit; her sons, James H McCue, Jr (Donna) of Pricedale, and Jonathan McCue (Mandy) of McComb. Grandchildren, Marcie Riley Jones (Brad) of Madison, Dusty Riley (Courtney) of McComb, Makayla and Brooklynn McCue of McComb, Bridgette (Jeremy) Andrews, Brandy (Evan) Wells, and Dustin (Brooke) Alexander. Great grandchildren Gage and Raylie Andrews, Cole & Waylon Wells, and Kaden Alexander. An incredibly special niece, Tina R Parker of Lafayette LA, whom she helped to raise. Sister-in laws Vallie McCue, Faye Parker along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at Pike Memorial Gardens in McComb at 2:15 on Monday, September 12, 2022, with Rev. James (Jim) Dalton officiating.
