Derrel Wade Allen, 66, of McComb, MS., passed away on June 15, 2024 at Aston Court in McComb surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 19, 2024 from 9 AM until services at 11 AM at Centenary United Methodist Church in McComb, MS.  Rev. Vicki W. Landrum and Sis. Connie Felter will officiate and burial will be in Felix Allen cemetery in Magnolia, MS.

Derrel was born on July 9, 1957 in Pike County, MS. He is the son of the late, James Ellis and Gladys Varnado Allen.

Derrel  was  a member of Centenary U.M.C. of McComb and for thirty seven years he was the owner and operator of  Mr. Whiskers Family Catfish Restaurant. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was an avid Southern Mississippi fan and graduated as proud member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon order and a resident of the Right Field Roost. He enjoyed canoeing his beloved Bogue Chitto River and sharing it with his friends and family. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beth Allen, two sons, Andy Allen (Ashley) and Hut Allen (Paige), one daughter, Claire McElveen (Will), two brothers, Randall Allen (Karen) and Malcolm Allen, two sisters, Judy Thompson (Mike) and Kristi Alford (Don), one grandchild, Mary Ellis McElveen with numerous nieces, nephews and his dog Beau.

Pallbearers will be Jay Allen, Mat Thompson, Ben Thompson, Will Hutson, Conner Hutson and Michael Haynes Hutson.
