Donald Grant "Pops" Lewis, 74, of Smithdale, MS passed away peacefully at his home on March 21, 2024.

A graveside service will be held Monday, March 25, 2024 at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 1 PM. Bro. Luke Addison will officiate services. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Donald was born on October 2, 1949 in Smithdale, MS to the late Willie and Cordia Montgomery Lewis.

He had a good life. He was an avid hunter, trapper, fisherman, and outdoorsmen. His friends even nicknamed him "The Trapper".  He was a musician and songwriter. Donald had an awesome sense of humor and personality. He never met a stranger. He loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; one sister Jimmie Sue Breeden; and one brother Roger Lewis.

He is survived by his son, Willie Lewis; his daughter Kim Childers (Jason); two sisters Sylvia Whittington and Allawana Parsons; eight grandchildren Ethan Drott, Madalyn Lewis, Lilliana Johnson, Phoebe Johnson, Marley Lewis, Maebry Lewis, Elijah Smith, and Emery Smith;  special friend, Eva Lewis; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Derek Parsons, Eric Parsons, Cody Wilkinson, Daniel Parsons, Levi Parsons, Tucker Parsons, and Easton Parsons.
