Donald Ray Magee, 61, a resident of Mendenhall, formerly of McComb, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on August 12, 2026.
Visitation will be Monday, August 17, 2026 at New Heights Baptist Church from 5 PM to 8 PM, continuing Tuesday, August 18, 2026 from 9 AM until services at 11 AM. Dr. Jim Futral and Dr. David Millican will officiate and burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery. Hartman~Jones Funeral Home of McComb will be in charge of arrangements.
Donald Ray was born on January 17, 1965 to his parents, the late Joe Magee and Jan Yarbrough McGroom. He was a special needs adult who touched the lives of so many people in his life and made everyone around him smile with his infectious grin and winning the hearts of everyone he met. He attended Central Baptist Church. He was a member of Miss Mattie’s Favorite Few Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of McComb and a member of her musical group the Joy Bells. He was an active participant in many activities including Wednesday Friends, Helping Hands, McComb Miracle League, Special Olympics Basketball, Camp Sunshine, Night to Shine of the Tim Tebow Foundation, Arc of Southwest Mississippi, and Boswell Regional Center Day Services in Magee, MS. Donald Ray will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother David Magee of Brandon, MS; his paternal grandparents Eldridge Magee and Evie Magee Taylor of Dexter, MS; his sets of maternal grandparents Louis Yarbrough and Ouida Yarbrough Stapleton of Tylertown, MS and Jimmy Haffey and Marie Haffey of McComb, MS; and a special aunt and uncle Ina and Wayne Magee of Dexter, MS.
He is survived by his mother, Marcia Magee of McComb, MS; his sister and brother-in-law Sharron DiGiovanni and Joe DiGiovanni of Mendenhall, MS; two nieces Melissa Smith (Chris “C.J.”) of Enon, MS and Ashley Parta (Dustin) of Enon, MS; two great-nephews Ethan and Mason Parta of Enon, MS; and two great nieces Jewel Marie and Josie Grace Smith of Enon, MS; along with many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to McComb Miracle League P.O. Box 878 Summit, MS 39666. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Donald Ray's beloved caregivers with AccentCare Hospice, Rick, Jennifer, and Amber.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Brown, Kade Boone, Shane Boone, Sam Marsalis, Josh Lofton, and Jared Waller.
