Obituary

Memorial services for Mr. Donald (Don) Grayson McDaniel, 70, will be held at 3:00 p.m.  on March 9 , 2024  at Unity Baptist Church.  The Reverends Jeremy Greer and A.J. Smith will officiate.  Visitation will be from 1 till service time at 3 at the church.  Mr. McDaniel, a resident of Magnolia, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, with his loving wife, son, daughters and brother by his side.

He was born October 14, 1953, in McComb, the son of the late William Howell McDaniel and Mary Nell Prescott Foreman.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Maurice Foreman, his father-in-law Charlie Brabham and one son-in-law, Robert Toney.

He was a game warden for the Mississippi Wildlife and Fisheries Department. Mr. McDaniel began his career with the MSDWF July 1, 1990, after 28 years of dedicated service Mr. McDaniel retired October 31, 2018, as a Master Sargent.  Mr. McDaniel was an avid outdoorsman, he loved all things outdoors including hunting, fishing and trapping.  He loved native American history and artifacts; he spent many hours searching for arrowheads and other artifacts.    Mr. McDaniel loved the Lord and loved to tell people about his Lord and Savior, he was a member of Unity Baptist Church.

Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife, Barbara Brabham McDaniel of Magnolia.  One son, Daniel and wife, Whitney McDaniel of Kentwood.  Three Daughters:  Shannon Toney of Gloster; Kim and husband, Scott Toler of Liberty; and Tanya and husband, Allen Berryhill of Brookhaven.  One brother, Wayne and wife, Nikki Foreman of Magnolia.  Two sisters:  Darine and husband, Danny Mann of Hattiesburg and Jena Welch of McComb and his mother-in-law Dorothy Brabham of Gloster. Seven Grandchildren:  Walker McDaniel and Teagan Conerly; Calli (Matt) Ngo; Cameron (Katie) Toney; Slade (Brooke) Toler; Annalee Toler; and Katelyn Berryhill.  Two great-grandchildren, Hadlee and Lilly Ngo.  Mr. McDaniel is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters in laws and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. McDaniel is also survived by his Fur Babies, Grace, Sister & Scharlie.
