Donna Gwen Dewett passed away on June 29, 2026, at The Claiborne of McComb. She was 63 years old.

Visitation will be held at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 3, 2026, from 2 PM till 3 PM followed by a graveside service located at Hollywood Cemetery at 3:30 PM. Dr. Larry LeBlanc will officiate.

Donna was born on April 27, 1963, in McComb. She graduated from McComb High School in 1981. She then went on to graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Deaf Education.

She taught several years in DeRidder, Louisiana, before coming back to Mississippi to teach at the Mississippi School for the deaf. She later taught for most of her teaching career in the Madison School District. She touched many lives through teaching the hearing-impaired students in her classroom. She retired several years ago with over 31 years of teaching experience.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sherry Dewett.

She is survived by her sister, Debbie Howell, and her husband Paige, as well as twin nieces Hadley and Whitley Howell, and nephew Kran Howell.

Pallbearers will be Paige Howell, Kran Howell, Scott Thompson, and Kevin Wells.

The family would like to thank The Claiborne of McComb and their Tempus community staff for the care and love shown to Donna. They would also like to thank Compassus Hospice for the care of Donna over the past few weeks.

Memorials may be made to the McComb Junior Auxiliary's Camp Sunshine or to the McComb Miracle League.
