Obituary

Felix Doyle Nunnery, 92, a resident of Smithdale, MS; passed away March 17, 2023 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 11:00 AM until services at 1:00 PM at Hartman Jones Funeral Home, graveside services with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will follow in Mt. Olive cemetery.  Rev. Eric Moak will officiate.  Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Doyle was born on January 24, 1932 in Auburn, MS to Robert Nunnery and Maggie Jordan Nunnery.  He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.  Doyle was a Master Mason with the John A. Quitman Lodge #244. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and served with the United States Army Reserves.    He worked as an aircraft mechanic and he received the Robert Taylor National Award for 59 plus years of aircraft maintenance.  While serving in Germany, working for the Federal Aviation Administration, he was attached to the Consulate General and he and Mary Ann held diplomatic status.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Doyle Allen Nunnery, brothers Ruben Hardy "RH" Nunnery, Robert Harold Nunnery, and Malcolm David Nunnery, sisters Doris Mock, Maurine Parker, and Imagene Orr.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years Mary Ann Young Nunnery of Smithdale, a daughter Debbie Lynn Nunnery of Baton Rouge, LA, sisters Annie Leach of Willows, CA and Yvonne Bates of Zachary, LA, grandchildren Emily Vivrette (Shane), John Doyle Nunnery, great grandchildren Aubrey Vivrette and Olivia Vivrette, along with a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Nunnery, Mike Riley, Reed Riley, Navada Watts, Josh White and Jason White.

Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Nunnery.

In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. Doyle Nunnery's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
