Obituary

Earl Lamar Williams, 88, passed away at his residence in Osyka on February 20, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 26, 2024 at Gillsburg Baptist Church from 9 AM until services at 11 AM. Dr. Victor Walsh will officiate and burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Osyka. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Earl was born in Magnolia, MS., on December 31, 1935 to the late Irvin Williams and Inez Coker Williams.
Earl worked for 28 plus years in Baton Rouge as a police officer, earning the rank of Major and was a member and a Deacon for Gillsburg Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and a friend to all. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Bobby Joe Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Fleeta Newman Williams; one son Bobby Williams (Deidre); one daughter Gail W. Turner (James); two brothers Troy Williams (Jean) and Jimmy R. Williams; four grandchildren Ashley Porter, Bobby Williams Jr., Daryl J. Williams, and Bradley D. Turner;  eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Williams Jr., Daryl Williams, Bradley D. Turner, Billy Potter, Jimmy Williams, and James Turner.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Gillsburg Baptist Church 6126 MS HWY 568 Osyka, MS 39657 God's Men Sunday School Class.
