Edith Nell Cox, 88, of Summit, MS passed away on December 16, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be Monday December 19, 2022 from 11:30 AM until services at 2 PM at Hartman-Jones funeral home of McComb. Rev. Cory Morris and Rev. Trent Moak will officiate and burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb.
Nell was born in Summit, MS on July 29, 1934 to the late Hosea P. and Ida "Lizzie" F. Freeman.
Nell was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in McComb. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother. She loved to grow flowers, go shopping, going on long road trips and fireworks. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas E. Cox, two brothers Homer T. Freeman and Nelson Freeman; three sisters Virginia Worley, Kathleen Chunn and Louise Sistrunk; two grandchildren Stacey Morris and Atlanta Sisco.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Thomas Wayne Cox, six daughters and their spouses Paula Edwards (Porter), Mary Westbrook (Jamie), Susan Nations (Dudley), Nell Hamilton (Bennie), Tammie Evans (Jody) and Tommie Lou Saucier (B.J.) with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Thornton, Chris Thornton, Caleb Morris, Jason Cooksey, Brady Cooksey and Cole Cooksey.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
A special thanks to the Hospice Compassus Nurses, Aides, Social workers and Bro. Danny Smith. Mom loved all of you.
