Mccaskell Boggs
August 11, 1941 – February 26, 2022
Edna Juanita McCaskell Boggs (1941-2022)
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Edna Juanita McCaskell Boggs, affectionately known to many as Nanny, went to Heaven on Saturday, February 26, 2022 after a long courageous battle. She was surrounded by her family who she treasured.
Nanny was born August 11, 1941 in McComb, MS to Lena and J.T McCaskell. She attended Fernwood School then married the love of her life Gary L. Boggs. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who supported her husband throughout his military career.
Two of her greatest joys in life were her church, First Baptist Church, Summit, and her family. She was dedicated to her church family and enjoyed helping cook for Wednesday night suppers, and always supported the church youth group for their mission trips and other activities. Additionally, she prepared Sunday lunch for her family as long as she was able. She supported and encouraged her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they participated in football, baseball, softball, pageants, school/church plays, dance and music recitals or any other activity they were involved with and never missed an opportunity to see them perform regardless of how far she had to travel.
Juanita Boggs was preceded in death by her husband Gary L. Boggs, her parents Lena and J.T. McCaskell, her brothers James Earl and Wilburn "Wib" McCaskell and her sisters Margie Smith and Jonni-Kathryn Ferguson.
She is survived by her daughters Garilyn Lunsford; Kathryn Boggs-Gray and her husband Cammie; and her son James Mikell Boggs and his wife LaVoyce. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Chasity Lunsford and her fiancé Scott Harrington; Garrith Lunsford and his wife Jackie; Katy Buckley and her husband Leslie; Nikki Bedingfield; Rebekah Boggs-Gray; McCaskell Boggs-Gray and fiancé Lance Reid; Mikell'Ann Boggs and Gary "Bubba" Boggs. She has nine great grandchildren: Kaylea Wagner; Gunner Buckley; Bear Watkin; Kinleigh-Bell Buckley; Brooklyn Wagner; Danny Ray Watkin; Gray Watkin; Addilynn Lunsford and Asher Lunsford; two brothers-in-law Charlie Boggs and Riley Ferguson and two sisters-in-law Glenda Parker and Peggy McCaskell as well as many other nieces and nephews that meant the world to her.
Throughout her life, Nanny grew a huge extended family and many wonderful friends. Ilene McCaskell Howard, her cousin, was like her sister, her best friend and constant companion. Her niece, Rhonda Fauver was like a daughter, whom she helped raise and was always there to help Nanny. Her extended family included, but is not limited to, Anita Fenn, Nathan Burris, Will Burris, Kristen and Lowell Green, Lisa and Bubba Dial, Bob and Kathleen Dial O'Neal and Kimberly and Josh Abbott, Fay Hayes, The Crockers, Baggett, Edwards and Pierce families.
Nanny's family welcomes all to visitation, Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 5 pm – 8 pm at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home, 1801 Delaware Ave, McComb MS and continued Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at First Baptist Church Summit, MS from 10 am until services at 11 am, with Dr. Larry LeBlanc officiating and family friend Dr. Trey Waldrop assisting. Burial will follow immediately after services at Hollywood Cemetery, McComb MS.

Honorary pallbearers are: Cammie Gray, Bear Watkin, Danny Ray Watkin, Gray Watkin, Nathan Burris, Richie Smith, Scooter Torrey and Mitch McCaskell.
