Edward Morris Putnam, 72, a resident of Bogue Chitto, MS; passed away on March 3, 2022 at Merit Health in Flowood, MS.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at First Baptist Church Summit from 9:00 AM  until memorial services at 11:00 AM.  Dr. Larry LaBlanc will officiate.  Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Edward was born on September 21, 1949 in Montgomery, AL to Morris Putnam and Marlyn Edwards Putnam.

He graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. and a M.S. degree in Poultry Science.  He was a poultry farmer, having grown up on a poultry farm and working in the  poultry industry throughout his career.  Upon retirement he decided to continue in the poultry business and built six houses of his own.  He remained active in statewide poultry associations serving on various boards.  He was a member of First Baptist Church Summit where he was able to go on several mission trips, he enjoyed the Church Building Ministry.  He loved working with the tech crew at First Baptist Summit also.  In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations in his honor be made to the First Baptist Church Summit Building Fund.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Edward is survived by his loving wife Lynn Gardner Putnam of Bogue Chitto; his sons Aaron Putnam (Beth) of Bogue Chitto and Andrew Putnam (Kim) of Madison; a daughter Lorna Putnam-Duhon (Dustin) of Baton Rouge, LA; his brothers Marshall Putnam (Liz) of Birmingham, AL and Carlos Putnam of Central, LA; three grandchildren Adrian and Connor Duhon and Case Putnam; along with many other relatives and a host of friends.
