Mrs. Elizabeth Bates Williams, 86, a resident of McComb passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Hartman Jones Funeral Home.  Rev.  James Lawrence, Rev. Wayne Hall, and Dr. David Millican will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery with Hartman Jones Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

She was born May 20, 1936, in Amite County, Mississippi the daughter of the late Rodney Julius and Gracie Scruggs Bates.

She was a former schoolteacher and private piano teacher, a member of Fernwood Baptist Church where she was a long time Sunday School Teacher, a hospice volunteer, and a member of the Southwest Hospital's Ladies' Auxiliary (Pink Ladies).

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Royce Dale Williams, Sr.

She is survived by two sons, Darrel B. Williams and Royce Dale (Vilma) Williams, Jr. of McComb; one daughter, Donna Patterson of McComb; four grandchildren, Lisa McCraw, Jessica Patterson, Mary Beth Saldana, and Casey Patterson; seven great-grandchildren, Aries McCraw, Christopher McCraw, Tiberius McCraw, Royce Saldana, Joseph Saldana, Jemma Saldana, and James Saldana.

Pallbearers will be Casey Patterson, Sean McCraw, Perry Williams, Bo Williams, Don Williams, and Steven Williams.
