Elsie Brumfield Simmons, 96, a resident of Westwego, LA, formerly of Magnolia, MS; passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023 at her residence.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM.  Rev. Wayne Hall will officiate.  Burial will be in Silver Creek cemetery.  Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

She was born on April 22, 1926 in Magnolia, MS to Elisha Brumfield and Lilla Phelps Brumfield.  Elsie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Westwego, LA.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed time sewing and crocheting.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Elisha Brumfield and Lilla Phelps Brumfield, her husband J.O. Simmons.

She is survived by her sons Jerry Lamar Simmons (Peggy) of Marrero, LA and Michael Wayne Simmons of Westwego, LA, two grandsons David Elliot Simmons (Jennifer) and Brian Michael Simmons, two great grandchildren David Elliot Simmons, Jr. and Finley Rae Simmons, along with other relatives and friends.
