Elton Eugene Perry,80, of Port Orange,FL., formerly of McComb MS., passed on July 15, 2023 at Reflections Memory Care Facility in Port Orange, Florida.

A visitation will be held Tuesday August 8, 2023 from 5 PM until 8 PM at  East Fork Baptist Church. A  graveside service will then be held Wednesday at 11 AM at East Fork Cemetery between Liberty and McComb, MS. Rev. Alton Foster will officiate and Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements. The U.S. Navy will render honors.

Elton was born in Wilkinson County, MS on April 18, 1943 to to the late Pharaoh and Florence Ida Cavin Perry.

He retired as a Mechanic from Georgia Pacific and was a member of East Fork Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by both parents, a brother Thomas and  a sister known best as Kandy. Also preceded in death by a former wife, Paulette and both their children, Byron and Amanda, who died tragically in a house fire in 1978.

Survived by his wife Ruth Foster Perry of 44 years, a son, Phil Perry, wife Samar and two children, Sahara and Marissa. Stepson Darryl Dunnaway, wife Nicolle, three children Bridget, James and Evelyn; stepdaughter Geri Buckley, husband David, and their children Spencer and Casey along with his wife Jackie and four children, Camden, Jillian , Kegan and Grayson. Nephew Shad who was as close and loved as a son, two brothers Mitchell Perry and Jim Perry; plus a sister Phyllis Arnold, and, of course,  numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, his East Fork Baptist Church family, and, last but not least, his many friends who played along and  shared his love for gospel music throughout the years.
