Emile "Gene" Hardin, 83, a resident of McComb, MS, passed away on January 30, 2022, at SMRMC.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Emile was born on July 31, 1938, in Centreville. He was the son of James Thomas Hardin and Ina Jordan Calloway Hardin.

He was a US Army Veteran. He retired from IC Railroad after 44 years. He was yardmaster, Assistant Train Master, Train Master and Conductor. He was a member of the Shriners and Masons. He was an avid Golfer with seven holes in one. He was also president of T-Jo's Pizza in Edgewood Mall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Tammy Jo Hardin Brown; three brothers, Earl Ray Calloway, Charles Calloway and Alton Calloway; two sisters, Veris Shuffield and Juanita Morris.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol J. Hardin of McComb, MS; one son, Steven Hardin of Walker, LA; two daughters, Kelly Daigrepont (Darryl) of Destrehan, LA and Jenny Hardin Hays of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren, Nichole Brown, Dana Daigrepont, Sean Hardin, Bryan Hays, and Connor Hays; three great grandchildren, Coleton, Connor and Jordyn and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.
