Obituary

Emmett Delmon Dear II, 36, of McComb, MS., passed away September 21, 2023 at the UMMC Hospital in Jackson, MS.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday September 30, 2023 at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb. Visitation will be from 10 AM until services at 12 Noon with Dr. David Millican officiating.

Emmett was born in McComb, MS on April 13, 1987 to Edward Keith Dear Sr., and Antionette Breaux Dear.

He was a loving son, brother, dad, uncle and brother in-law. He loved Mustang's, racing, painting his cars, drawing, and spending time with his closest family and friends. He also enjoyed music and reading the newspaper.  He loved to muggle in his Mustang with the ones with whom he chose to muggle with.  He was kind hearted—known by many and loved by all.   He will be greatly missed by the ones who knew him best.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Emmett Delman Dear; his grandparents:  Clemon Eugene Dear, Sr, Dona Moak Fortenberry, Edna Jean Breaux, and Percy Breaux.  A brother, Gary Wayne Dear; special uncles, Eugene Dear, Jr., and Charles Dear; and special cousins, Jeramie Dear and Nanny Valire Husle.

Emmett is survived by his parents, a brother, Edward Keith Dear, Jr and his wife, Misty Dear.  Two sons:  Brentley Dear and Jay Shawn Dear.  Two nieces, Haley Dear and Daniele Owens.  Two nephews, Jacob Hickman, and Edward Keith Dear III., five great-nephews, Levi Dear, Jasper Dear, Jhett Hickman, Emmett Morgan, and Edward Keith Dear IV., one great-niece, Kingsley Owens, and many cousins.
