Emmett Eugene Decanter, 76, a resident of McComb, MS passed away on February 3, 2026 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

A visitation will be held Friday, February 6, 2026 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 1:30 PM, with a graveside service to follow at Magnolia Cemetery at 2 PM. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Emmett was born on March 26, 1949 to the late William and Mary Nell Decanter.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one infant grandson Willis Decanter, Jr. his sister Winnie Palmer; and his two brothers John and Jimmy Decanter.

He is survived by his son Willis Decanter; his sister Sheila Anderson; three grandchildren Dalton Decanter, Dakota Ooten, and Hunter Decanter; one great-grandaughter Rosie Decanter; and his niece Rebecca "Becky" Ravencraft.
