Eva Nell Wells Pennington, 94, of Gonzales, TX, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024.

She was born on March 23, 1930 in Amite County, Mississippi to the late David Nathanial Wells and Myrtis Cara Pray Wells.  She was raised up in the Hebron Community and accepted Christ in Hebron Baptist Church at a very young age.  She attended East Fork School and graduated in 1948 and is a member of Central Baptist Church in McComb, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Peron Pennington, parents, a son, David Brooks Pennington, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Maurice Hewitt Wells and Juanita Wells and Jimmy Lee Wells and Lynn Wells all of McComb, Mississippi, sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice Steele and Wayne Steele of Natchez, Mississippi, and a great-niece, Lacey Radford of Texas.

She is survived by her son, James Carroll Pennington (Jenny) of Gonzales, Texas, four grandchildren, Jason Pennington (Jessica "JJ") of Louisiana, Misty Pennington Kirby (Jamie) of New York, Stefanie Pennington Albright (Steven) of Austin, Texas, Matthew Pennington (Brooke) of Gonzales, Texas, five great-grandchildren, Drew, Nate, and Grace Pennington, David Kirby, and Annabel Albright, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb, Mississippi.  Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Hartman-Jones Funeral Home Home, immediately followed by the graveside service at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb.
