George Jackson, 89, of Bossier City, LA., passed away on March 19, 2026.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 25, 2026 from 12 PM until services at 2 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Osyka, MS. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.

George was born on October 25, 1936 in Ville Platte, LA to the late George Scott Jackson, Sr and Ethel Turnage Jackson Ivey. Following 10 years with the Marine Corp, his family moved to Melbourne, FL where he worked at the Kennedy Space Center and retired after 44 years. After retiring, they moved to Bossier City, LA in 2006.

He is preceded in death by his parents along with his siblings Billie Jean Argus, Marylee Gordon, Charles Jackson and Jackie Jackson.  He also is preceded by one great-grandchild Malachi Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marie Rhodus Jackson. They were married on May 26, 1955 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Tom Summerall. They have 3 children Gregory Jackson (Linda), Pamela Stahlin (Jim) and Michael Jackson (Nancy). George was a proud grandfather to 8 grandchildren Kristina, Ellen, Bryan, Joey, Charlotte, Logan, Gentry, and Graycen. He was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Turner, Bryan Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Christian Maxie, Jim Sipes, and Tim Rhodus.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Tunnel to Towers @ T&T.org or the Wounded Warrior Project.
