George Clayton Martin Jr., 78, of Summit, MS., passed away December 5, 2024.
Services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Church of Our Redeemer 101 Magnolia St., Magnolia, MS. Visitation at 10 AM until services at 11 AM. Rev. Victor Mcinnis and Rev. Andrew McLarty officiating.
George was born on October 30, 1946 in Hempstead New York to the late, George Clayton Martin Sr., and Marguerite (Peggy) Martin.
He was a retired International CFO for Tarrant Industries. After he retired, he owned and operated the UPS store in McComb for 15 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother in-law.
He is survived by and greatly missed by his wife of 36 loving years, Jean, one son, Jeffery (Tracey) Martin of Wilson, NC., one daughter, Joy (David) Trimble, of Fort Worth, TX., one stepson, Craig (Jennifer) Pope of Pikeville, NC., one step daughter, Kelly (Greg) Stanley, of Lumberton, NC., one sister, Lollie (Robert) Everett, Brandon, MS., six grandchildren, Jubal Martin, Callista Martin, Lukas Trimble, Captain Casey Pope, Elizabeth Stanley and John Stanley with numerous cousins, nieces and his loving cat Missy.
He attended Southwest Community College and graduated from Southern Mississippi with an Accounting degree. He started his successful career with Kellwood in Magnolia. After he retired from Tarrant Industries he worked diligently to get McComb approved for the UPS Store. George loved spending time with his family, cooking and grilling. His family loved "George's Grilling Sauce". He was and avid sports fan and loved bowling and coaching Little League.

The family would like to thank Compassus. They would like to personally thank Candy, Sydney, Leah, Shannon and DeeDee for the compassionate professional care they gave George.
