Gregory Rudolph Barksdale ,71, of Smithdale, MS passed away at his residence on May 7, 2023  surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2023 from 9 AM to 11 AM with services starting at 11 AM at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb. Dr. David Millican will officiate and burial will be at Mt. Gilead  Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Smithdale, MS.

Gregory was born on December 13, 1951 to the late Calvin R. and Ruby Watts Barksdale.

Gregory was a retired IT Tech and a member of Concord Baptist Church and he served in the  Mississippi National Guard. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father grand and great-grandfather and brother. He greatly loved his family, he enjoyed farming, ranching, tinkering and working in the garden. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Jimmy and Irene Kyzar.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty three happy years, Pamela Kyzar Barksdale, four sons Donnie Barksdale (April), Chris Kyzar (Angel), Vinnie Barksdale and Dorian Davis, one daughter Christina Byrd (Greg), one sister Janice Duck (Nolan), twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael Watts, Tony Steinhauer, Greg Kyzar, Todd Buie, Corey Lewis, and Ben Gatlin.
