Obituary

Harvine Catherine Thompson Marler of Hazlehurst, passed away on July 13, 2024, after a brief illness.  She was the daughter of Harvey June Thompson and Mattie Catherine Thompson.  Harvine was a devoted wife and mother.  She was married to the late Fred E. Marler, the love of her life.  She was a wonderful mother and a pillar of strength who was always there when her children needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. Her children:  Fred E. Marler, Jr., Linda Gail Marler, (deceased) Kenneth Wayne Marler, (wife Debbie) Charles Marler, (wife Tammy) and Mitchell Marler (deceased) (Tina).

Sisters:  Naomi Kishler and Joyce Shelton.  Mrs. Marler was also blessed with eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Marler was a devoted member of Springhill Baptist Church in Martinsville, MS, for most of her life.  Her early life was filled with fishing and camping trips with her husband and children, as well as attending various functions at the Moose Lodge where she was a member for over forty years.  After retiring from the Wesson Post Office, Harvine enjoyed bowling with friends and working in the yard.

To commemorate her incredible journey, visitation will be held at Springhill Baptist Church in Martinsville on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Following visitation, there will be a Celebration of Life service lead by Brother Stan Weatherford   A short graveside service will follow.

Pallbearers will be Lee Owens, Kent Johnson, Jerry Hartley, Gerald Chinn, Patrick Easterling, and Dr. Stan Weatherford.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Springhill Baptist Church, 10076 Hwy 51, Wesson, MS, 39191, in loving memory of Harvine Catherine Thompson Marler.
