Hayley Marie Mize Thornhill age 60 of Smithdale, Mississippi passed away on September 20th, 2024. Hayley passed away surrounded by her family at her place of residency and by holding the hands of her daughter and mother while her granddaughter Alexis played Amazing Grace on the piano. The day was filled with love memories and praise and worship as we waited for her lord and savior Jesus Christ to come and take her home.

A celebration of life will be held at Mccomb First Assembly at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 5th, 2024.

Hayley was born at Fort Stewart in Hinesville, Georgia on July 10th, 1964 to Carlton Mize and Rachel Freeman and was later raised in Flomaton, Alabama and eventually moved to Mississippi after marrying the love of her life Ronald Thornhill.

During Hayley's working life, she was a phlebotomist but later became a stay-at-home wife and mother upon her move to Mississippi.

Hayley not only loved her family but she loved God most of all, even in the times of trouble, she never lost her love of God nor her trust in him. She was an avid book reader and family historian, and loved to help not only her family but others in need as well.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Thornhill; her father Carlton Mize; and her two sisters Shanda Mize and Terry Mize.

She leaves behind her mother Rachel Freeman; her daughter Monica Mize Martin (Joshua); her two granddaughters Alexis Merrifield (Damien) and Makayla Merrifield; her soul sister Debbie Norwood; and her cousin Rita Turk who was also like a sister to her; her brother Jason Mize; and also leaves behind some aunts' uncles and cousin's nieces and nephews. She will be missed here but is celebrating her new life in heaven.
