Henry H. Johnson,86, of Smithdale, MS passed away at his residence on May 22, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 5 PM (until) at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9 AM until services at 11 AM at the church. Rev. Jack Whittington will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb will be in charge of arrangements.
Henry was born on September 20, 1936 to the late Luther and Eula Mae Rogers Johnson.
Henry was a retired Machinist a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and he served in the U.S Navy during the Korean War. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father grand and great-grandfather, brother and friend. He loved the outdoors hunting, fishing and he never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Clayton Buster Lofton, one daughter Martha Ann Johnson, one brother Marvin Johnson, one sister Evelyn Dykes and brother in-law Harry Dykes.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty one happy years Julia Ann McClelland Johnson, two sons Henry Lee Johnson (Tanya) and Edward Earl Johnson (Glenda), seven grandchildren Lorie Wilson (Trevon Minor), James Johnson (Brittany), Amanda Nations (Wayne), Kari Johnson, Klint Johnson, Daniel Johnson and Kalli Johnson, seven great-grandchildren, Katylin Wilson, Harley Wilson, Skylar Sutton, Peyton Johnson, Rayna Nations, Mollie Nations and Karter Mullins, daughter in-law Pat Lofton and sister in-law Anna Mae Johnson with numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Klint Johnson, Wayne Nations, Daryl Scott and Gene Dickerson.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Compassus for their kindness and help during this difficult time.
