Henry Clayton Roberts Sr., 83, of Summit passed away May 19, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Roberts was born on April 19, 1940 in McComb to the late Henry Clay Roberts and Doris Johnson Roberts.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and will continue Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 2:00 PM until services at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Johnston Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Bill Poole will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Brock, Landon, and Cody Roberts, Jonathan King, Ty McKee and John Odle.

Mr. Roberts was a retired butcher and worked at A&P Grocery for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard where he served for five years. He was a longtime member of Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved to coach sports and gardening. He was a very devoted father and loved attending anything involving his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years Mary Katherine Roberts; one son Ron Roberts; one brother Russell Roberts.

He is survived by his sons Clay (Debbie) Roberts; Wayne (Amber) Roberts both of Bogue Chitto; his daughter Jennifer (Dee) Bates of Summit; grandchildren Haley (Jonathan) King, Morgan (Ty) McKee, Savannah (John) Odle, Brock (Heather) Roberts, Landon (Shelby) Roberts, Madison Bates, Mary Katherine Bates, Meredith Bates, Cody Roberts; great grandchildren Annlyn, Kynnedi, and Briggs King; Bella, Jagger, and Fletcher McKee; Logan, Eliza, Maeleigh and Cullen Nash Roberts; Lawson and Langston Roberts; Timothy and Randen Robbins; sister Carol Ann (Clyde) Dillon; brothers Lamar (Sharon) Roberts, John (Elaine) Roberts; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
