Henry Leo VanNorman, 84, of Smithdale, MS passed away on December 22, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A graveside service will be held December 26, 2024 at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery at 2 PM. Bro. Shan VanNorman will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Henry was born on February 15, 1940 in Enterprise, MS to the late Roland Taylor VanNorman and Virginia Hillard VanNorman. He served in the US Army, participating in the Tank Core. He was a member of East Fork Baptist Church. In his earlier days, he enjoyed driving the kids from church in the Liberty Christmas Parade. He loved animals, specifically his dog Ladybug and his cat Lucy. He tended to the yard and kept beautiful flowers growing in it. He tinkered with his green 1963 truck and did woodworking projects. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Vera Denise "Dee" VanNorman; two brothers Glen VanNorman and JD VanNorman; and two sisters Hazel VanNorman and Zillah Gibson.

He is survived by his wife of 64 loving years Marie Wilkerson VanNorman; his "adopted" children Angie Dunaway (Ricky), April Coley (Neal Edmonds), and Kristi Moak (Brad); seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Dunaway, Brad Moak, Dale Williams, Gary VanNorman, Brently Coley, and Tim Wilkinson.
