Joe was born on July 22, 1958 in Louisiana to his parents, the late Henson S. Childers Sr. and Helen M. Roberts.

He loved his family and he tried taking care of everyone. He loved racing cars. He was a good hunter and fisherman and he loved his animals. He was one of the strongest, most courageous men I've ever known. He would do anything for anyone and he asked nothing in return. He will be greatly missed.
