Jack Donald Hughes,77, of Kentwood, LA passed away at his residence on May 20, 2023  surrounded by his loving family.

A  graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Woodland Cemetery in Kentwood, LA.  at 11 AM and Rev. Justin Craft will officiate. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb will be in charge of arrangements.

Jack was born on October 26, 1945 in Bogalusa, LA to the late Redo H. and Dorothy Rester Hughes.

Jack was a retired forty five year career truck driver and was a member of the Line Creek Baptist Church in Kentwood and he served in the U.S. Air force during the Vietnam war. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He greatly loved his family, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty two happy years, Mary Connelly Hughes, two sons J.D. Hughes (Bridgette) and Jeremy D. Hughes (Jamie), two brothers Paul M. Hughes (Mary) and Mark C. Hughes (Dera), four grandchildren Matthew Hughes, Parker Hughes, Annabel Hughes and Avery Hughes, a sister in-law/daughter Fran C. Bauer (Keith) with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be J.D. Hughes, Jeremy Hughes, Parker Hughes and Matthew Hughes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Bauer, Phil Connelly, Jim Howard and Lee Hughes.
