James E. Alexander, 83 years old, Summit, Mississippi passed away at Aston Court on May 26, 2024, after an extended illness.

Private family service to be held at Enon Cemetery on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 10 AM.

Preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn (Coon) Alexander, father Rev. William E. Alexander, mother Edivee (Reeves) Alexander.

Survived by his two sons, William S. Alexander (Heather) of Brookhaven, James D. Alexander (Jackie) of Prairieville, Louisiana., his brother Bobby Joe Alexander (Lois) of Stephenville, TX.  Grandchildren, Drew Alexander, Dustin Alexander, Dalton Alexander, Darby Alexander, bonus grandchildren, Felicia DeWitt and Madison Hutchinson. Six great-grandchildren and 6 bonus great-grandchildren.

James is a graduate of Enon High School, attended Southwest Mississippi Jr. College for one year before joining the U.S. Army.   He retired from the army in 1979, after 20 years of service, with an E7 rank.  He and his family traveled while in the army with his last overseas tour being in Germany.  After retirement, James was employed as an heavy equipment operator.

James was an avid LSU fan, loved playing golf when he was able to and watching Nascar.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Aston Court and Enhabit Hospice for all the care that was given to James.  They were like family to him during his last year.   Special thanks to Staci, Kelly, Traci, and Freddie.
