Obituary

James S. "Jimmy" King, 84, of McComb passed away February 3, 2024 at his home.  He was born September 29, 1939 in McComb to the late Sidney and Claudia King.

Visitation will be at Hartman Jones Funeral Home 1801 Delaware Ave. McComb Wednesday Feb. 7, 2024 from 9-11 AM followed by graveside services at Whittington Cemetery in Amite County.  Dr. Larry LeBlanc, Tim King and Bradley White will officiate.

Jimmy was a member of First Baptist Church of Summit where he served as a deacon and on many committees.  He worked at the J.D. Fly Store on State St. and then Denman Alford where he was the buyer for the men's department.  In 1976 he and Ann opened their store The Tailor's Bench, where they worked together for 20 years.  After closing the store, he worked at Howell Motors until his retirement in 2005.  He enjoyed playing golf and watching sports, especially Parklane Academy and Ole Miss.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Cludia King; his son Scott Warren King and a  brother and sister in law Tommy and Belva King.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Ann Statham King; granddaughter Sagan King; great grandson Jack Sanouvong; brother Phillip King and his wife Mary; brother in law Mark Statham and his wife Trudy; sister in law Carolyn McKay and her husband Milton.

The family would like to thank friends for the many prayers, love and support, the staff of Mississippi Cancer Institute and Hospice Compassus for their loving care.
