James Kenneth Morris, Sr.  82, of Osyka, passed away at his residence on June 5, 2025.

A visitation will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Osyka Baptist Church from 9 AM until services at 11 AM. Bro. Jacob Williams will officiate and burial will be at Osyka Cemetery. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ken was born on August 10, 1942 to the late James Vernon Morris and Elsie Rae Newman Morris. He was a longtime member of Osyka Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 58 years and taught Sunday School. He was the mayor of Osyka for over 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, writing, cooking shrimp gumbo at Christmas, coaching and playing baseball with his grandsons, and most importantly spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Karlene Ott Morris; three children Ken Morris, Jr. (Tracy), Kirk Morris (Stacy), and Kreg Morris; four grandsons Ritchie Morris, Kaston Morris, Jamie Morris, and Kaden Morris; one sister Pam Lewis; two nephews Mitch Lewis and Trent Lewis; one niece Nikki Neal; and first cousin Bob Newman.

Pallbearers will be the deacons of Osyka Baptist Church.
