James F. Muirhead, Sr., 89, a resident of McComb, MS; passed away March 29, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM until services at 3:00 PM at Hartman Jones Funeral Home, graveside services will follow in Pike Memorial Gardens. .  Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

James was born on October 31, 1934 in Vicksburg, MS to Harry A. Muirhead, Sr. and Iven Estelle Cooper Muirhead.  He was of the Baptist faith.  He retired from MDOT as the assistant to the project engineer.  He enjoyed time with his family, having fish fry's and camping.  He loved being outdoors, tending to his yard with his faithful companion, his dog Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan Muirhead, his daughter Judy Tullos, brothers Harry Muirhead, Jr. and Edward Muirhead, two grandchildren Mitchell Tullos and William Tullos, and a great grandchild Alicia Whatley.

He is survived by his son James Muirhead, Jr. (Vivian) of McComb, daughters Martha Whatley (Billy) of Tylertown and Estelle Adams (Marvin) of McComb, numerous grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, along with many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Tullos, Joey Jackson, Koty Jackson, Shawn Lang, Billy Whatley and Ronald Lang.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Muirhead, III, Aaron Stankevitz and Phil Simonsen.

The family of Mr. James F. Muirhead, Sr. wishes to thank his caregivers Tommy Tullos and Amy Tullos, and the entire staff of St. Luke's Hospice for the loving care and attention given to him during his illness.

In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. James Muirhead, Sr.'s name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Center.
