Thomas James "Jamie" Edwards, 75, a resident of Smithdale, MS; passed away September 2, 2023 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Mars Hill Baptist Church from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Mars Hill cemetery.  Rev. Jared Leonard will officiate. Hartman Jones Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Jamie was born on November 7, 1947 in McComb, MS to Joseph Forrest Edwards and Lorraine Burris Edwards.  He was a lifelong member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He served in the United States National Guard. He was employed for 40 years as a carman for Illinois Central Railroad, Amtrak and Canadian National Railroad. He also worked for the Pike County Co-op for over 10 years. He enjoyed beef cattle farming. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and a devoted friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Douglas Edwards, his father and mother in law John and Gene Fenn, his brother-in-law Bobby Adams, his sisters-in-law Donna Edwards and Debbie W. Fenn, and his great nephew Conner Adams.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Fenn Edwards of Smithdale, daughters Sally Toler (Chris) of Liberty, Allyson Edwards of Pearl, a son Kevin Edwards of Smithdale, grandchildren Logan, Laura, and Lizzy Toler, Braden, Stance, and Kylee Edwards, a sister Mary Margaret Adams, along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Reggie Fenn, Jerry Toler, Clay Campbell, Fred Adams, Warren Adams and Cael Adams.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to Mars Hill Baptist Church Building Fund.
